Operation Gilde resulted in arrest of over 10 persons

Norwegian police officers have busted a large doping ring. Over 10 persons connected with illicit actions were arrested. Six persons went to prison.
According to affirmations of the newspaper Dagens N?ringsliv (DN), the doping ring was established in Trondheim. DN presented own investigation linked with illegal sale of anabolic steroids in Norway. Police investigated the case.
It is suggested that a secret center is in Trondheim. It manages illicit distribution of doping medicines and money laundering.
The arrested individuals were linked with bodybuilding, fitness and health industries in Norway. Some individuals were arrested at their homes; others – in business offices, parking lots and tram stops.
Police believe that several individuals are hidden by the names of Guru and Karma.
Robert Eilertsen is included in those who have been arrested. He is an operator and editor of a fitness blog. This person coached well-known athletes within football, boxing, handball, etc.
It is suggested that Eilertsen and several other individuals have provided dangerous performance-enhancing drugs to Norwegian youth during some years.
Approximately 60 police officers were involved in raids. The raids resulted in 11 arrests.
Since the investigation is not finished yet, police officers don’t report about their further actions.
Norwegian customs officers and tax authorities assisted the investigation.
Many computers and certain documents were confiscated during raids of homes, business officers, cars, etc.
Eilertsen and Gunnar Strand Jacobsen, another arrested individual, have denied their links with doping preparations. Jacobsen is the owner of Kaliber Gym in Trondheim, one of the most trusted gyms in Norway. Jacobsen was personal trainer of sportspeople that acquired prizes. He coached athletes that attended to various sports. He is claimed to be a high-profile nutrition expert.
The raid was called “Operation Gilde”.
Eilertsen and Jacobsen are charged with sale of doping preparations and money laundering.

Britons and Spanish persons have managed illegal drug ring

Spain’s police officers arrested Scott Boote, a man, who was involved in illegal actions connected with a multinational drug ring manufacturing stimulants that increase sexual desire. Huge measures of drugs were confiscated by policemen. It was estimated the street value of these drugs. It was affirmed that it was almost ?3 million. A Briton, a 72-year-old person from Liverpool, was also questioned. According to statements of police officers, these two persons manufactured 8 new sexual stimulants and offered them for sale per internet without providing medical controls. Six other persons were also questioned during this investigation. Investigators claimed that the persons that were involved in this illicit drug ring purchased cars and another property due to distribution of illicit sex medications. Some bank accounts were blocked by police. More than 100,000 dosages of anabolic steroids, properties and cars were confiscated.
A spokesperson for Spanish police claimed that all members of the drug ring lived very luxuriously. They have numerous properties and luxury cars. They purchased properties abroad in order to hide the shaded business. Investigators determined that the ring offered for sale sexual medicines for both men and women. The drugs were advertised on internet. Individuals from around the world could order the medicines. Thus, people from the USA, the UK, Thailand, Malaysia, etc. were customers that obtained preparations from this ring. Three factories functioned in Costa del Sol. Police officers suppose that those who were manufacturing the products didn’t have needed knowledge for this purpose. According to them, the persons that were involved in the drug ring created also legitimate business in order to hide the illicit one. They put efforts to give legitimate appearance to illicit operations. Several commercial companies were managed by these persons in order to mask the profits obtained due to illegal sale of sex stimulants.
Boxes that had to be sent to customers were also found by police. Anabolic steroids were also found and confiscated by policemen. The arrested persons also possessed packages, labels and leaflets.

Young steroid user hit another motorist in face because he flushed him, while he was driving

However it is not yet manifested scientifically whether “roid rage” is an unwanted result of steroids, these preparations are demonized for different criminal actions quite often.
Michael Barton, a man from Britain, hit a Ford Fiesta, while he was driving his Volkswagen Golf. Paul Gard was a motorist of Ford Fiesta. Barton had overtaken Paul Gard. But then Michael Barton had to pull back in front of Paul Gard, since another vehicle was driving the other way. Paul Gard flashed him. So, he had to brake suddenly. Barton became infuriated, stopped his Volkswagen Golf, broke the wing mirror of Paul Gard’s Ford Fiesta and hit Gard in the face. Then Gard’s wife called police. While she was calling, Barton drove off calmly.
Michael Barton, a 21-year-old man that has a son of two years old, administers steroids to bulk up. So, it has been claimed that these products affected his behavior. The defense attorney for Michael Barton confirmed that steroids influenced on temperament of his client, since these preparations enhanced his testosterone levels.
Earlier Michael Barton was convicted for several crimes, including domestic violence. Last year this young person pleaded guilty to an assault, criminal damage and driving incautiously due to his anger following assaults.
Patrick Hooton, the judge, confirmed that he was not sure that steroids were responsible for his improper behavior. But he noticed that it was completely mad to get furious and hit a person in the face just because he flashed him. The judge noted that Barton’s behavior was very dishonorable and he said: “you ought to go to prison”.
Thus, Michael Barton was sentenced to 6-month jail sentence suspended for a year; he was also enforced to pay 500 dollars in compensation and ?277 for damage of the Ford Fiesta.

New methods of cheating in doping

Sportspeople become more and more sophisticated in usage of steroids. They study new ways to mask their application of banned drugs. Certain sportspersons take time to study specialists’ statements that may help them to hide that they dope. Today a way has been found: sportspersons may mask usage of testosterone with the help of green tea.
Testosterone represents a hormone that is secreted in body naturally. So, it may be difficult for anti-doping agencies to determine that a sportsperson has taken testosterone. T: E ratio testing is usually used by anti-doping organizations. Such tests may demonstrate uncommon ratio of testosterone to epitestosterone in urine. But it doesn’t show difference between testosterone that has been secreted in body naturally and that introduced into body with the help of injections, gels, etc.
Declan Naughton and his colleagues at Kingston University ( London) have determined that green tea has such substances which are called “catechins”. They are able to inhibit the enzyme UGT2B17. This enzyme promotes attaching glucuronic acid to testosterone. In case UGT2B17 is inhibited, less testosterone glucoronide is excreted in urine.
Catechins, the compounds which are able to mask intake of testosterone, are contained in green and white tea. Black tea doesn’t have such substances.
Naughton and his colleagues have conducted certain experiments. They confirm that a cup of strong green tea mask usage of testosterone.
Thus, those sportspersons who administer testosterone can decrease amounts of testosterone that are excreted in urine by consumption of green or white tea. Green or white tea is capable to block excretion of testosterone, enhancing circulating levels of this hormone.
The World Anti-Doping Agency was informed about the discovering by the scientists. If this process occurs, it is not worthy to subject sportspersons to urine tests. Blood tests must be performed in order to determine that a person has used testosterone.
Olivier Rabin, the WADA’s specialist, claims that regular checks of blood steroids will be added. Everything will be done by anti-doping agencies in order to prevent fooling of urine tests.

Fake doping products were sent to Wim Vansevenant by Australian company

The case against Wim Vansevenant, a former Belgian rider, changed dramatically. An analysis demonstrated that the doping preparations that were ordered by him didn’t contain the contents enumerated on the labels. He was cheated by the company where he ordered the medicines.
Last year some packages sent to the former rider by an Australian company were intercepted by customs officials. It was written on the intercepted bottles that they contained the doping medicine TB-500. It is a peptide hormone which has ability to increase muscle power and speed healing. An investigation was started by the Belgian authorities. It was thought that Wim Vansevenant supplied the Omega Pharma-Lotto team with doping preparations. This athlete rode professionally 10 years, from 1998 to 2008. Last 6 years of his career he was with this team.
An analysis of the bottles intercepted by customs showed that they contained only amino acids. Wim Vansevenant’s attorney confirmed that the charges had to be dropped. He explained that since the preparation was not related to doping, the former rider didn’t deserve to be punished.
Johan Lescrauwaet, the prosecutor’s spokesperson claimed that the contents didn’t correspond to the name of the drug which was indicated on the label and to the affirmations of the former sportsperson.
Just amino acids were discovered in the bottles. No any doping preparation. So, there is no any evidence that Wim Vansevenant provided doping medicines to other persons.
The hearing of the former Belgian professional rider was scheduled to be later.

Director of Toxicology at University of Florida testifies on behalf of Roger Clemens

Testimonies of the celebrated toxicologist Bruce Goldberger will probably influence greatly on decision of the court in the case linked with Roger Clemens. Bruce Goldberger is the Professor of Pathology and Director of Toxicology at the University of Florida College of Medicine. This expert testified on behalf of Roger Clemens. Although he was called in order to replace Don Catlin, the director of the WADA UCLA Medicine, Goldberger’s testimonies didn’t correspond to those that are commonly provided by anti-doping agencies. He testified on behalf of the accused sportsman.
Bruce Goldberger has gained his celebrity due to his participation in various news programs. Even during such programs he doesn’t abstain from criticism. Bruce Goldberger criticized several anti-doping agencies, including the WADA.
The toxicologist expressed criticism for federal prosecutors in the case connected with Roger Clemens. They based on “beer can evidence” presented by Brian McNamee to prove that Roger Clemens used steroids and HGH. Brian McNamee, the former personal trainer of this baseball player, presented a beer can with used needles and syringes that had traces of such steroids, as Sustanon, Primobolan Depot and Deca Durabolin and were mixed allegedly with blood of Roger Clemens. The beer can was stored by McNamee more than 6 years. The toxicologist argued that such basis wasn’t reasonable.
Bruce Goldberger claimed that it was impossible to base on “beer can evidence”. He noticed that no one could prove that Roger Clemens used steroids and HGH, basing on the beer can, because the theory of contamination could present.
So, Bruce Goldberger didn’t support the evidence used by the governmental agents. Earlier he also expressed criticism connected with evidence applied by several anti-doping agencies.
Some years ago Goldberger testified on behalf of Floyd Landis, an American celebrated cyclist, when this sportsperson appealed positives for steroids. A WADA-accredited lab located in France found traces of exogenous testosterone; T: E ratio and carbon isotope ratio tests were applied by the lab. Bruce Goldberger pronounced similar words and criticism during the appeal related to Floyd Landis.
Goldberger claimed during an interview that the WADA used inadequate methods and violated rights of sportspersons in order to reach the success in anti-doping programs.
Floyd Landis didn’t have success in his appeal and admitted that he had administered steroids, EPO and some other related medications.
No one can be sure which results will be reached by Roger Clemens. Will the federal prosecutors prove that he has lied before the Congress? Will he admit to doping? Or will be the results opposite?

There were no changes in physical appearance of Roger Clemens during his working with Brian McNamee

Every baseball fan knows that Roger Clemens is charged with obstruction of justice. It is believed that he has lied before Congress about intake of steroids and HGH.
Rusty Hardin pointed out that Roger Clemens’ muscularity didn’t change greatly before, during and after his working with the coach Brian McNamee. He confirmed that this aspect proved that Roger Clemens hadn’t administered steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs.
Appearance of muscles is commonly utilized by prosecutors as proof that an athlete uses steroids or/and other related medicines. But this tendency was not used during the case against Roger Clemens. Nobody could affirm that Roger Clemens’ muscles manifested that he had used steroids and HGH. It is a difference between the cases against Roger Clemens and Barry Bonds.
As for the governmental case against Barry Bonds, federal prosecutors called many individuals in the trial that were able to testify that anabolic steroids led to substantial changes in physique of this sportsperson. They confirmed that usage of steroids led to increase of muscle size, increased size of the head and testicular shrinkage in Barry Bonds.
Thus, Rusty Hardin presented four pictures of Roger Clemens. The photos displayed physique of Roger Clemens, including the period of time when Clemens was working with Brian McNamee. Hardin pointed out that the pictures displayed that there were no changes in physical appearance that could manifest that he used steroids and HGH.
Rusty Hardin noticed that the pictures displayed only the process of ageing. The masseur Cheryl Redfern also confirmed that she didn’t observe any changes in physique of Roger Clemens. Roger Clemens had neither back acne, nor gynecomastia, nor dramatically enhanced muscles.
Phil Garner a former Major League Baseball player also confirmed that there were not any substantial changes in physical appearance and performance of Roger Clemens during working with the trainer Brian McNamee.
The Assistant US Attorney Steve Durham put efforts to discredit the affirmation about lack of changes in Roger Clemens’ physical appearance during the cross-examination of Garner. He claimed that while certain steroids enhanced muscle size, others didn’t induce getting muscles. So, he claimed that the photos could display nothing about steroid use.
Feds want to take advantages in both cases: in the case against Roger Clemens and in that against Barry Bonds. While they affirm that changes in physical appearance of Barry Bonds display that he has utilized steroids, lack of physical changes in Roger Clemens doesn’t prove that he hasn’t applied steroids.

Over 70 persons, including teenagers, were killed by steroid user in Oslo

Anders Behring Breivik was accused in murder of  70 persons. He bombed buildings of government in Oslo (Norway). Some teenagers of the Workers’ Youth League camp were also killed by him on Utoya island in July 2011.
This criminal prepared for the deadly actions substantially. He acknowledged that he had utilized steroid cycles.  Since he took steroids, these drugs were blamed for the massacre by numerous journalists.
But what did experts consider? Joerge Moerland, a professor of forensic toxicology at the Norwegian Institute of Public Health, contested statements of these reporters. The forensic toxicologist Joerge Moerland affirmed that anabolic steroids didn’t contribute in the massacre. But the specialist noted that he couldn’t contest that these medicines could cause aggressiveness in Breivik.
An ECA, a combination of caffeine, aspirin and ephedrine, was also applied by Breivik. In fact, this stack is usually used by bodybuilders for fat burning and pre-workout stimulation. It was defined that the killer has applied great quantity of the combination. The quantity used by him was by 50 % more enhanced than it is permitted under European Union’s rules.
The toxicologist Joerge Moerland affirmed that Breivik’s behavior was more substantially influenced by the ECA than steroids. He pointed out that ephedrine might lead to desire to be implicated in dangerous activities. Joerge Moerland affirmed that Breivik’s central nervous system had been affected by ephedrine.
Nonetheless, the expert Moerland noted about limitation of the ECA’ impact. The quantity of caffeine consumed by Breivik was equal to approximately 5 cups of coffee. So, the quantity was not enough high in order to be demonized for the massacre.
Breivik described his usage of steroids and dietary supplements in details. He also recommended other individuals ordering steroids at Alinshop.
Breivik noted that he didn’t like Dianabol because it was able to cause liquid retention. He explained that Dianabol could add more body weight than users could carry. According to his affirmations, approximately 50 % of the mass gained due to Dianabol is water retention. The killer decided to take several combinations that were appropriate for his needs.
Breivik learnt about advantages and disadvantages of different steroids in order to choose those who were appropariate for his purposes. He confirmed that Testosterone Propionate had certain priorities over Dianabol. He also suggested that combinations of Dianabol with Aromasin or usage of Dianabol followed by administration of Winstrol could benefit essentially.
Thus, Anders Breivik prepared for the massacre scrupulously. He spent time in order to choose and plan steroid cycles and application of dietary supplements. He also thought over every aspect connected with attacks and murders.
Although certain persons claimed that Anders Breivik was legally insane, it’s wrong. It is evident that he has done it consciously.

Reports of Sydney Morning Herald about links between steroids and motorcycle gangs

The newspaper “The Sydney Morning Herald” reports that illegal application of steroids has become widespread in Australia due to outlaw motorcycle gangs. The gangs get high profit and low risks.
The detective Nick Bingham has confirmed that New South Wales Police doesn’t focus on investigation linked with intake of steroids but anabolic steroids become targets of investigations, when police officers arrest motorcycle gangs for violation of other laws.
According to Nick Bingham, although New South Wales policemen don’t raid houses of gangs for steroids, they find them, when they conduct searches for weapons and psychostimulant drugs.
Nick Bingham has claimed that they ordinarily seize such amounts of steroids from motorcycle gangs that are only for personal intake. Amounts of other preparations which are usually found in possession of gangs are much greater than those of steroids.
The detective Nick Bingham has noted that criminals like applying anabolic steroids in order to have threatening muscular bodies. They want to look big and strong.
However the detective Nick Bingham is sure that gangs possess steroids only for personal application, the newspaper “The Sydney Morning Herald” doesn’t agree with his opinion. It reports that motorcycle gangs are involved in smuggling of steroids.
However gyms are considered to be the main sources of steroids for bodybuilders, it is confirmed by “The Sydney Morning Herald” that some gyms have direct links with motorcycle gangs. The Herald claims that numerous seizures made by the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service are related closely to distribution of steroids by motorcycle gangs.
According to statements of Australian Customs, mail seizures of steroids have been enhanced essentially in comparison with past years.
Over 2, 000 seizures were made in 2009-2010 and over 5, 000 seizures of steroids were recorded in 2010-2011.
The majority of seizures were connected with personal intake of steroids imported by bodybuilders.

Federal prosecutors are waiting for judge Walton’s decision about allowance of David Segui to Roger Clemens’ case

Federal prosecutors want the judge Reggie Walton to permit the former Major League Baseball player David Segui to provide testimony in the trial related to the case of Roger Clemens. This player had a conversation with Brian McNamee, the former coach of Roger Clemens. It is confirmed that they have spoken about intake of steroids by the former celebrated baseball player.
McNamee was chosen to testify against Roger Clemens because he turned out to be the only person that had direct knowledge about application of steroids and other related medicines by Clemens. Furthermore, he saved injection equipment: vials, syringes and needles that were allegedly mixed with Roger Clemens’ blood. DNA analysis was made in order to define whether the blood belonged really to Clemens.
Rusty Hardin, a defense attorney for Roger Clemens, claimed that the steroid evidence was created by Brian McNamee after the interpellation by federal prosecutors.
But prosecutors noted that David Segui told them that Brian McNamee said that he kept several things as evidence of steroid use by certain players in 2001. It was several years before Roger Clemens’ former trainer became the target of the investigation.
Information presented by David Segui to federal prosecutors differed completely from that provided to Jim Baumbach, a sportswriter. His affirmations provided to the sportswriter were published in an article in 2008. According to that piece of news, Segui confirmed that he had never spoken about steroids with his friend Brian McNamee.
Segui found out about implication of Brian McNamee into the case of Roger Clemens only in 2006, when he read a piece of news in the Los Angeles Times.
Segui discussed openly about personal application of steroids and other related medications. He said that players of the Major League Baseball asked him many times whether he had taken steroids. This person admitted that he had used them. But David Segui claimed that he had never discussed about administration of steroids with Brian McNamee.
Segui supported McNamee’s decision to store evidence about intake of banned preparations by his clients. According to Segui, it is a proper decision because sometimes innocent guys are blamed but guilty guys are covered. Thus, Brian McNamee could help to disclose the truth.
However federal prosecutors asked the judge Walton to permit Segui to provide testimony in the trial connected with Roger Clemens, it is unclear yet whether the judge will allow it.

Cancellation of several fights influenced negatively on financial position of certain promotional companies

The boxer Andre “The Best” Berto tested positive for the steroid Nandrolone. The Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency (VADA) conducted the drug testing.
This boxer was scheduled to meet Victor Ortiz on June 23, 2012 in Los Angeles. He agreed to submit to random drug testing before the fight. Both “A” and “B” urine samples indicated about application of the anabolic steroid Nandrolone.
It was already the second time this month, when the VADA tested fighters and caught them applying steroids. The first boxer that tested positive this month due to tests conducted by the VADA was Lamont Peterson. He was scheduled to fight against Amir Khan. It is quite ironically that Peterson requested random blood and urine testing. A carbon isotope ratio test conducted by the VADA defined that Peterson had testosterone of exogenous origin certain weeks before the fight.
The tests conducted by the VADA influenced greatly on financial position of several companies. For example, Golden Boy Promotions lost significant potential profit due to Lamont Peterson’s positives. It was set by the CEO of the company Richard Schaeffer that the company lost 250, 000 dollars.
The cancelation of the fight between Andre Berto and Victor Ortiz will probably not cost so much because another boxer will possibly replace Andre Berto and will fight against Ortiz.
The fighter Andre Berto didn’t explain what had caused his positives. This fighter hired the attorney Howard Jacobs who would represent and defeat him.
Berto confirmed that he had never applied steroids. So, he confirmed that he investigated with his attorney what could lead to positives for steroids. Berto concluded that he had never cheated; he achieved success in sport due to hard work and dedication.
The attorney Howard Jacobs represented many other athletes who turned out to be victims of fake food supplements.
It is said that since the steroid Nandrolone has quite long half life and it is detected easily, it is not widespread among dopers. But it has been defined many times that several food supplements contained the compound nandrolone that caused positives for steroids. But since sometimes not every ingredient is enumerated on the label, sportspeople become victims of cheating.

Chael Sonnen has gotten TUE for usage of steroids

Chael Sonnen is allowed to administer anabolic steroids. The physician Timothy Trainor noted that this sportsman really experienced hypogonadism.
What does this disease represent? Hypogonadism is connected with insufficient production of the hormone testosterone. Physicians ordinarily prescribe testosterone replacement therapy in order to cure this disease.
Chael Sonnen has gotten a therapeutic use exemption (TUE). Thus, this athlete is allowed to use steroids for therapeutic purposes and meet Anderson Silva at UFC 148 in July 2012.
According to instructions given by Chael Sonnen’s health care provider, he has to apply injections of Testosterone Enanthate and Testosterone Cypionate twice weekly. The doses which are indicated have not been discussed. But under establishments of the Nevada Athletic Commission, blood serum levels of testosterone in Chael Sonnen should remain within normal range on the morning after the fight against Silva.
The physician Trainor claims that those who fight, having TUE, must be tested on the morning after the match to determine whether they have used something right before the competition.
Trainor suggests that testosterone is able to produce performance-enhancing effects, if it is administered right before the fight. He confirms that injections must not be introduced in the days before a match in order to prevent increased testosterone levels.
But it seems that the NAC is not aware that steroids cause benefits related to increase of performance, not only if they are applied right before competitions. Application of steroids influences essentially on performance during workouts before competitions. And the benefits remain even after sportspersons discontinue utilizing them.
The fighter Chael Sonnen had increased levels of testosterone at UFC 117. He confirmed that he had tested positive because he had been on TRT.  After his appeal the suspension was lowered to 6 months from one year. But he didn’t have any TUE that time.

Galabin Boevski desired to traffic 8 kg of narcotics

The Bulgarian weightlifter Galabin Boevski went to nine months in prison because of illegal international drug trade. He was arrested in October 2011 at the Guarulhos International Airport in Brazil after he tried to board the plane with 8 kg of cocaine. This sportsman was headed to Bulgaria. The narcotic was estimated. It could be sold at the price of 500, 000 dollars on the streets in countries of Europe.
Boevski is a celebrated sportsman in Bulgaria. He is considered to be one of the most famous weightlifters in this country.
First he was caught using steroids in 1995. Undoubtedly, he was suspended.
Then this athlete was caught using banned medications in 2004. It was the second time when he broke doping laws. Actually, Boevski didn’t test positive for any prohibited drugs. But anti-doping officials determined that he didn’t provide own urine. The urine which was provided by this athlete belonged to another person. As a result, Galabin Boevski received 8-year suspension. During serving the suspension he was caught trafficking cocaine.
Galabin Boevski became famous due to his success in weightlifting. This sportsman won gold medals at some competitions: at the 1999 World Weightlifting Championships in Athens, the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney and the 2001 World Weightlifting Championships in Antalya.
At the 2003 World Championships in Vancouver this athlete and his teammates from Bulgaria provided urine samples which belonged to another person. It was defined by anti-doping officials that the 3 urine samples belonged to one person. These sportsmen received suspensions. Galabi Boevski appealed the suspension but it was unsuccessful.
Boevski broke some world records at various competitions. He held three world records. His best lifts were following: a 162, 5 kg snatch, 196, 5 kg clean and jerk and a 357, 5 kg of two lifts at the 1999 Championships.
It is wondering but Boevski’s reputation wasn’t spoiled in Bulgaria. He used his status of celebrity in sports in order to establish a Technogym fitness center in Sofia. The center was called Atama Wellness and Spa.
Moreover, Maria Isabel do Prado, the Brazilian judge, noted that Galabin Boevski applied also his status of celebrity in sports in order to smuggle the narcotic cocaine. She also added that this sportsman used the participation of his daughter in a Brazilian tennis tournament to cover his illegal operations linked with trafficking of the narcotic.
The weightlifter Galabin Boevski decided to appeal the conviction.

It was expected that Andy Pettitte would say that Roger Clemens admitted to usage of banned drugs

The desire of the federal government connected with the case of Roger Clemens was following: they desired to prove that this sportsperson had lied before the Congress about usage of anabolic steroids and HGH. But the government was not able to achieve this goal. It was expected that Andy Pettitte would confirm that Roger Clemens had acknowledged that he had taken the banned products during a conversation in 1999 or in 2000. But the statement of Andy Pettitte was shocking for prosecutors. This man claimed that he couldn’t confirm that Roger Clemens had used steroids and HGH because he was not sure.
In fact, did the statement of Andy Pettitte shock the prosecutors? This man swore for the 2008 Congressional hearings on application of steroids in the Major League Baseball that Roger Clemens admitted to administration of HGH. But he provided opposite testimony at the Barrett Prettyman Federal Courthouse in Washington.
Michael Attanasio, a defense attorney for Roger Clemens, asked Andy Pettitte whether he can say that he is 50-50 that he has understood wrongly Roger Clemens about HGH. Andy Pettitte answered that he is actually 50-50 about this factor.
When the prosecutors heard the answer of Andy Pettitte, they didn’t know what to do. They stated that Pettitte never said this way, when he was asked several times.
The U. S. District Court Judge Reggie Walton noticed that he understood that Andy Pettitte’s answer has been conflicted. In fact, his statement was following: “I don’t know”.
The attorneys for Roger Clemens utilized the moment of the prosecutors’ confusion. They requested the judge to ignore Andy Pettitte’s testimony because he was 50-50. The attorneys claimed that he probably misunderstood Roger Clemens or he can’t remember the details of the conversation.
The government has stated that the jury still allows considering the affirmation of Andy Pettitte. ASUSA Dunham has claimed that under federal laws jury is allowed to choose which affirmation to believe. He hopes that the jury will ignore the testimony which doesn’t support the government.
Thus, the testimony provided by Andy Pettitte and his wife caused problems. Testimonies of his wife during the first trial resulted in the declaration of a mistrial by the judge Walton.
Pettitte claims that he is a friend of Roger Clemens. Clemens must also confirm that they are friends after Andy  Pettitte’s last testimony.

Steroid user killed one policeman and wounded four police officers

Police officers raided the house of Cullen Mutrie for a drug investigation. This person shot 5 police officials at his home. As a result of the shootout, the Greenland Police Chief Michael Maloney  was killed; 4 police officials were wounded. The next morning Cullen Mutrie and a woman were found dead.
It is suggested that this person was utilizing steroids at the time of the shootout. Jane Young, the New Hampshire Associate Attorney General, stated that toxicology reports were waiting in order to find out whether metabolites of steroids were in the body of this person.
Police officers reported that Cullen Mutrie had been a muscular person. This man worked at Genetix Fitness in Seabrook. He was described as a man that was 6 feet 3 inches tall. He weighed 275 pounds. During a raid which took place in July 2010 police officials found anabolic steroids at his home. The policeman Wayne Young found them in a coffee table. He said that he had noticed a plastic bag with certain vials. A vial was with powder; others contained liquid. According to the labels, they were steroids.
The vials were analyzed by the New Hampshire State Crime Lab. It was confirmed that the vials contained such medicines, as Trenbolone Acetate, Sustanon 250, Boldenone Undecylenate and Nandrolone Decanoate.
John Miller, a professor of kinesiology, was asked whether a link between the deadly actions and aggressiveness due to anabolic steroids could present. The professor claimed that it was plausible. But according to him, it is impossible to affirm that there was a direct connection between intake of anabolic steroids and the shootout.
John Miller supposed that steroids that were on the black market were provided from legitimate pharmaceutical companies. But he has been mistaken because the majority of steroids which are sold on the black market are produced in underground labs. It is even suspected that Cullen Mutrie produced steroids.
Since a link between criminal actions and usage of steroids is a controversial issue, not only policemen but also media investigates the case linked with the cop-killer.

Members of NSAC advised to Alistar Overeem to look for more qualified doctors in future

Alistar Overeem, a mixed martial artist, appealed his suspension which was received by him for administration of anabolic steroids on April 24, 2012. But Alistar Overeem couldn’t win his appeal against members of NSAC. He forfeited his license for nine months. Then this fighter will be allowed to come back.
This fighter admitted that he had administered injectable testosterone that was advised him by his physician. Alistar Overeem utilized the strategy which was considered to be boring. He noted that he had never utilized anabolic steroids or other related medications knowingly. He tried to make the NSAC think that his injectable application of steroids was accidental.
David Chenoff, the defense attorney for Alistar Overeem, is experienced in defending prominent sportspeople.
David Chesnoff called the personal health care provider of Alistar Overeem to testify during the hearing. It was supposed that Dr. Molina would testify in defense for this athlete. Testimonies of this physician were very miserable. The doctor Molina presented an explanation for prescriptions of several preparations which resulted in Overeem’s elevated testosterone: epitestosterone ratio.
The treating doctor of Alistar Overeem admitted that he recommended and injected his patient with a mixture of Toradol and Dexamethasone because he had an injury. In fact, these medicines are used for anti-inflammatory purposes. But usage of testosterone in case of injuries is not approved by the FDA.
It is believed that the health care provider Molina hasn’t warned this fighter that these products contain the anabolic steroid testosterone. But it is evidentially that he has never asked about it.
Thus, testimonies of the health care provider Molina turned out to display lack of the evidence connected with clinical needs for administration of prohibited products by Alistar Overeem. The health care provider couldn’t provide any reasonable explanation which could justify prescribing of Toradol and Dexamethasone to his patient. Testimonies of the health care provider Molina worked against Alistar Overeem.
In fact, it was felt that Alistar Overeem was a victim of the physician’s quack.
But it is possible to suggest that this strategy was designed by the defense attorney for this sportsman.
Pat Lundval, a commissioner, was probably impressed by the defense of Alistar Overeem. She even called him a “smart guy”.
The members of the NSAC seemed to believe that Overeem has been actually a great guy but he has surrounded himself with such questionable persons, as Dr. Moline. They recommended him to find more qualified professionals in the future.
