Operation Gilde resulted in arrest of over 10 persons


Norwegian police officers have busted a large doping ring. Over 10 persons connected with illicit actions were arrested. Six persons went to prison.
According to affirmations of the newspaper Dagens N?ringsliv (DN), the doping ring was established in Trondheim. DN presented own investigation linked with illegal sale of anabolic steroids in Norway. Police investigated the case.
It is suggested that a secret center is in Trondheim. It manages illicit distribution of doping medicines and money laundering.
The arrested individuals were linked with bodybuilding, fitness and health industries in Norway. Some individuals were arrested at their homes; others – in business offices, parking lots and tram stops.
Police believe that several individuals are hidden by the names of Guru and Karma.
Robert Eilertsen is included in those who have been arrested. He is an operator and editor of a fitness blog. This person coached well-known athletes within football, boxing, handball, etc.
It is suggested that Eilertsen and several other individuals have provided dangerous performance-enhancing drugs to Norwegian youth during some years.
Approximately 60 police officers were involved in raids. The raids resulted in 11 arrests.
Since the investigation is not finished yet, police officers don’t report about their further actions.
Norwegian customs officers and tax authorities assisted the investigation.
Many computers and certain documents were confiscated during raids of homes, business officers, cars, etc.
Eilertsen and Gunnar Strand Jacobsen, another arrested individual, have denied their links with doping preparations. Jacobsen is the owner of Kaliber Gym in Trondheim, one of the most trusted gyms in Norway. Jacobsen was personal trainer of sportspeople that acquired prizes. He coached athletes that attended to various sports. He is claimed to be a high-profile nutrition expert.
The raid was called “Operation Gilde”.
Eilertsen and Jacobsen are charged with sale of doping preparations and money laundering.
