Hematocrit levels should be checked during steroid use

The boxer Tony Thompson claims that anabolic steroids and other doping products should be legalized in boxing. The sportsman thinks that anti-doping laws and gun laws are identical. Who keeps gun laws? Just good guys do it. As a result, good guys are at a disadvantage. So, the similar situation is linked with anti-doping laws. Just honest athletes don’t apply steroids and/or other performance-enhancing drugs. Thus, they fight with those who have increased their performance with the help of steroids and other related drugs.
It is argued that anabolic steroids are forbidden in sports because they are dangerous. What would you believe about boxing in itself? Isn’t boxing dangerous? The answer is evident.
But it is also stated that it is necessary to ban anabolic steroids and other related medicines in order to make boxing safer. Steroids and other doping products enhance performance. The more enhanced performance is, the more dangerous rounds are. Although it is true, would you prohibit anything that promotes performance of boxers? So, you prohibit steroids because they enhance performance. Then prohibit workouts as well since they enhance performance too! So, you will reduce performance while minimizing potential risks. What do you think about this aspect?
Tony Thompson also adds that detection tests are not effective at all. While numerous athletes use banned preparations, just some of them are caught and sentenced to suspensions. So, dopers have unfair advantage over those who obey anti-doping rules. Where is fairness? Where is logic?
Of course, arguments provided by Tony Thompson are reasonable. Anti-doping rules make matches more unfair. Moreover, the prohibition of doping doesn’t make matches safer. Many boxers continue to use anabolic steroids and/or other forbidden medicines without being caught. They continue to fight and succeed with the help of doping, while good guys are at a disadvantage because they don’t break anti-doping laws.
Thus, if doping is legalized in boxing, matches will be more honest. Undoubtedly, they will remain unsafe. But they will be at least fair.
Tony Thompson has been harshly criticized for his statements pro legalization of doping in boxing.

Reeva Steenkamp was murdered by Oscar Pistorius

Oscar Pistorius admitted that he had killed his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. But the athlete stated that he had shot her because he had mistaken her for  a burglar.
Police officers try to determine why the sportsman really shot Reeva Steenkamp. They discovered anabolic steroids at his home.
Since anabolic steroids have been discovered in Oscar’s bedroom, it would be possibly stated that anabolic steroids caused uncontrolled violent behavior in the sportsman. Steroids would be blamed for the murder.
In fact, you should recognize that it is quite hardly to state that steroids are responsible for aggression and violent behavior. Studies connected with this issue are quite limited. According to results of several studies, steroid users are predisposed to aggression, paranoia, jealousy, etc. It is claimed that those that use anabolic steroids are more likely to be involved in crimes than those that have nothing to do with these medicines. But it is necessary to take in consideration that steroids may only contribute to aggression. Only these medications alone can’t lead to aggression. They turn out to be just factors that contribute into uncontrolled aggression. Other factors should be also present for appearing of aggression. Circumstances play great role in such situations. So, it is even impossible to determine whether steroids cause aggression or certain circumstances. Violent cases should be viewed as a complex of steroid use and circumstances.
It is also claimed by experts that high testosterone levels are connected with aggression in some persons. So, it is important to underline here that while several individuals with elevated testosterone levels experience aggression, others with enhanced levels of testosterone are not predisposed to uncontrolled violence. This condition differs from one person to another.
You can see that the connection between usage of steroids and violence is a complicated issue. Specialists have not studied this condition well enough to engage it. So, if defense lawyers of the Olympic athlete want to argue that anabolic steroids have made their client to kill his girlfriend, they should realize that they are going to utilize controversial affirmations.

It is not needed to subject athletes to anti-doping tests

It is not necessary to subject athletes to tests for doping substances. Many cases manifest that tests for forbidden medicines are not efficacious. Furthermore, it is important to realize that application of tests by anti-doping agencies is not logical at Olympics. The main purpose of Olympic sportspersons is following: to become faster, stronger and to be at the highest level. So, why should you keep sportspeople far from drugs which could help them to achieve this result?
As you know, steroids and other related drugs boost performance. Thus, sportspeople should be allowed to use these remedies in order to increase physical performance.
Numerous persons claim that anabolic steroids and other doping products make competitions unfair. Is this point of view true? No, it wrong. You should comprehend that tests for anabolic steroids and other related medicines make competitions unfair. Many sportspersons administer performance-enhancing drugs while avoiding detection. Thus, some athletes apply steroids; others don’t violate anti-doping rules. As a result, users of doping products have unfair advantage over non-dopers. It’s unfair. Let all sportspersons have similar access to performance-enhancing drugs. Thus, competitions will be fairer.
But debating about unfairness in sports, you should remember about other aspects that have more essential influence of fairness/unfairness than anabolic steroids and other related products. Several athletes live in developed countries; others are in less developed countries. Certain sportspersons have money to purchase necessary equipment; others can’t afford it. Some countries can sponsor sportspersons, coaches, sport doctors and managers; others are not capable to do it. Thus, unfairness should be discussed here.
Olympic sportspersons spend much time while training. They sacrifice time, money, etc. That’s why it is illogical to suspend those that are caught using anabolic steroids and other doping products.
While sportspeople are sentenced to suspensions for application of anabolic steroids and certain other chemical substances, they are never banned for application of herbs and certain potions. It is stated that anabolic steroids and other chemical substances are suspended in sports because they can enhance physical performance. But what is for herbs and potions? They are also capable to boost energy. Nevertheless, these remedies are not prohibited in sports.  Chinese athletes use herbal remedies and win.
Of course, you may argue that steroids and certain other medicines may result in serious negative effects. Undoubtedly, certain forbidden medicines may cause serious health problems. But those who intend to take these preparations do own research. They are aware of probable dangers. Let athletes decide whether it is worthy to administer such medications. If they are ready to worsen health, let them do it because they should manage own bodies.

It’s better to legalize doping in sports

What do you believe about legalization of doping in sports?  Several persons believe that it is time to legalize it. Others are against it. What do you think?
Those who are against legalization of doping in sports think that anabolic steroids and other related medicines represent essential evil. They may cause severe unwanted results in consumers. Furthermore, a doper has unfair advantage over a non-doper during competitions.
According to another opinion, administration of anabolic steroids and other doping products should be allowed in sports. Let sportspersons apply whatever they want! If they desire to administer steroids, let them do it! If they intend to use other medications, let them do it! If they want to use several drugs, let physicians supervise their application! Doctors know what their patients should do in order to avoid several undesirable effects. Thus, performance-enhancing drugs will not lead to serious side results. As a result, application of anabolic steroids and other related medications will be relatively safe for health and life of users.
As you know, anabolic steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs are currently forbidden in sports. When sportspersons are suspected and/or found guilty of doping, scandals appear. Such situations are frequently discussed during TV shows, in magazines, newspapers, on internet, etc. You must know that each scandal usually contains not only truth but also gossips, exaggerations, etc. As a result, you can’t be sure whether several affirmations are true or not.
Those that are against legalization of doping in sports believe that sportspersons enhance performance unnaturally with the help of anabolic steroids and other related drugs. Speaking about enhancement of athletic performance, you should not forget about enhancement of sexual performance, cognitive skills, improvement of health, etc. Why do we use some drugs and supplements, improving our health and life, while demonizing sportspersons who try to promote performance with anabolic steroids and other doping products? Is it fairly? You would note that anabolic steroids and some other doping products lead to health problems. Yes, it is true. But what do you consider about usage of caffeine and nicotine? They are accepted in the society. But it is necessary to notice that caffeine and nicotine result in more serious health troubles than anabolic steroids and other related medicines. Nonetheless, consumers of caffeine and nicotine are not so harshly demonized, as consumers of steroids.
Anti-doping agencies hope that they will soon eradicate doping from sports. “Competitions will be fair”, - they exclaim. But it is needed to realize that doping will be never eliminated from sports. Anti-doping officials will not be ever able to do it. While they elaborate new methods of detection and increase penalties for intake of banned substances, sportspersons find new ways to avoid detection. So, anyone should understand that this conflict will never end, if doping is not permitted in sports.

Anti-aging clinics appear to be related to doping scandals

Many anti-aging clinics are connected with doping scandals. It’s naturally because they supply sportspersons and bodybuilders with steroids and other related medications. When appropriate authorities raid anti-aging clinics and seize documents, they see that certain celebrated sport figures belong to clients of the clinics.
Recently some anti-aging clinics located in Miami were investigated. Feds determined that the clinics sold prescription drugs illegally. The clinics sold medications for enhancement of muscle mass, weight loss, increase of endurance, etc.
According to the newspaper the Miami New Times, the anti-aging clinic Biogenesis was found guilty of illegal sale of doping products. Furthermore, such well-known baseball players, as Alex Rodriquez and Melky Cabrera bought doping products at Biogenesis of America. So, the anti-aging clinic turned out to be linked with one of the biggest steroid scandals in the sport of baseball.
Medical records of Biogenesis were obtained from an employee of the clinic. The records were presented on the site of the newspaper Miami New Times. Reporters said that the employee who provided the records didn’t want to be identified.
It is reported that anabolic steroids, HGH, IGF-1 and other prescription medications are widely sold illegally by anti-aging clinics. Moreover, clinics hire doctors who provide fake prescriptions. Prescriptions for steroids and other related products are often given to clients without appropriate evaluation of their personal conditions. Furthermore, physicians supply clients with needed prescriptions even without seeing them. In additions to these aspects, several corrupt physicians permit anti-aging clinics to utilize their prescription pads. As a result, anti-aging clinics sell steroids, painkillers and other prescription medications illicitly, as if they worked legally.
When illicit operations of anti-aging clinics become obvious, owners of clinics, doctors and certain employees are sentenced to several sanctions. Nevertheless, the risk to get punishment doesn’t stop clinics from their illegal operations. However proper authorities try to eliminate illegal sale of prescription medications, their success is not yet significant.

Since doping is not permitted in sports, competitions are unfair

Numerous professional sportspersons acquired steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs from the Miami anti-aging clinic Biogenesis. The famous baseball stars Alex Rodriquez, Melky Cabrera and Bartolo Colon also belonged to individuals that got anabolic steroids at this clinic.
What is unusual here? - Nothing. Steroids and other related medications are widely taken in baseball and in other sports. Sportspersons get these medicines at pharmacies, clinics, etc. A lot of anti-ageing clinics, pharmaceutical companies and other related establishments distribute steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs illegally. Biogenesis is not the only clinic that is involved in illegal actions related to anabolic steroids and other prescription drugs. Sportspersons find different ways to get anabolic steroids and other related drugs and apply them. Although anti-doping officials try to eliminate doping from sports, their efforts are not successful.
Do you think that anti-doping agencies don’t work enough well? Do you mean that they should establish more sophisticated drug testing systems? Do you claim that they don’t do their job properly?
It is important to see that no any drug testing program is capable to eradicate doping from sports completely. Athletes find several ways to avoid detection. Administration of doping remedies is a part of sports. It exists from ancient time. Even ancient Greeks and Romans had certain ways to enhance their performance to win. Will athletes stop administering steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs now?
Certain sportspersons purchase undetectable medications and administer them. Moreover, they hire experts that supply them with tips for application of anabolic steroids and/or other doping products. So, some athletes have unfair advantage over others. Anti-doping officials can’t change the situation. They can’t make sports “clean”. What is it necessary to do under such circumstances? It is probably needed to legalize doping in professional sports. So, anyone will be allowed to apply whatever he/she wants. As a result, no any athlete will have unfair advantage over another.
But since anabolic steroids and other related products are not permitted in sports, athletes try to find ways to obtain and apply these preparations, avoiding detection. When it becomes evident that several athletes dope, scandals appear.

Steroids caused testicular cancer in Lance Armstrong

However the American cyclist Lance Armstrong has already lost his Tour de France titles and other awards, his steroid scandal is still hotly debated. Numerous indidivuals are still expressing their attitudes to this case. Not only his alleged intake of doping products is disputed but some individuals also speak about Lance Armstrong’s testicular cancer. Why has Lance Armstrong experienced this health problem in his young years? What has caused this disease in him?
Whoopi Goldberg, a famous American actress is also involved in debates linked with Lance Armstrong’s steroid scandal. While she has been chiefly involved in discussions linked with marijuana and other related drugs, now she has chosen to join those that fight against anabolic steroids and other doping products.
According to Whoopi Goldberg, Lance Armstrong has experienced testicular cancer because of steroids. The actress claims that anabolic-androgenic steroids are likely to lead to cancer. She argues that these preparations may promote appearing and developing cancer. Whoopi Goldberg thinks that experts should inform people about possible tights between anabolic steroids and cancer. The actress notices that experts can determine whether steroids have sickened Lance Armstrong.
But what do other celebrated persons think about Lance Armstrong’s testicular cancer? Bob Weiner, a celebrated political commentator, notes that anyone should be very cautious while supposing that steroids are responsible for development of cancer. This man acknowledges that these preparations cause numerous adverse reactions which are quite harmful for users’ health and even life. But he notices that it is uncommon to blame steroids for cancer. Such suggestions are serious. Bob Weiner considers that this issue has nothing to do with anti-doping morality.
Nonetheless, Bob Weiner is inclined to believe that Lance Armstrong’s testicular cancer has been caused by anabolic steroids. This illness normally doesn’t occur in young men. Why then has Lance Armstrong got it? Since scientific literature supposes that connections between cancer and steroid use may exist, Bob Weiner doesn’t deny affirmations of Whoopi Goldberg.
But as it has been already noticed, this issue is not included in those of anti-doping programs. Anti-doping officers focus on morality and they don’t care about protection of sportspeople’s health.

May steroid users enter Baseball Hall of Fame?

Fans of baseball and numerous other persons seem to be anxious by results of voting for the Hall of Fame. Some great players have not been elected for the Baseball Hall of Fame. It is not surprisingly that you also ask why they have not been supported. Under rules of voting, those that have shown brilliant baseball abilities and contributed to their teams evidentially should be elected. It goes without saying that such baseball players, as Roger Clemens, Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa, Rafael Palmeiro, Mark McGwire and certain other persons have shown amazing skills and accomplishments while playing professionally. Why haven’t they entered the Baseball Hall of Fame?
Many voters affirm that they will never support those that have ever been related to anabolic steroids and/or other doping products. Dopers should be sanctioned. Future generations should understand that they will never actually have success in sports, if they take doping products.
What would you do, if you were a voter? Would you support consumers of steroids?
Actually, voters never possess entire information about admitted and suspected steroid users. You can’t prove that Roger Clemens has really taken doping products. Many persons have suspicions but there is no any proof. Why should voters refuse to support him? Are they sure that he has applied anabolic steroids and other banned drugs? –No, they aren’t. That’s why it is wrong to keep Roger Clemens out of the Baseball Hall of Fame just because of suspicions.
While several voters are ready to support suspected consumers of steroids, they state that they will never vote for an admitted consumer of steroids. However it seems to be fair, let review the situation better! Have steroids played any substantial role in success of certain baseball player? For example, if even Roger Clemens has taken performance-enhancing drugs, it is possible to convince anyone that he has succeeded not because of steroids. Great accomplishment of this celebrated baseball player have been displayed before his alleged steroid use. According to several affirmations, Roger Clemens has administered steroids since 1998 and then in 2000 and 2001.  But the most amazing accomplishments have been done by him before 1998. Thus, nobody can affirm that anabolic steroids have helped Roger Clemens to succeed in professional baseball. That’s why he should be in the Hall of Fame.
Moreover, why are a lot of persons inclined to blame just consumers of steroids? Isn’t it the society that presses sportspeople to start using steroids and other related medications?

Baseball Hall of Fame is for best players

Such celebrated baseball players, as Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens and Mike Piazza, have not been introduced into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Is it fair? These sportspersons have acquired great results while playing baseball professionally. But it is affirmed that there is no any place for steroid users in the Hall of Fame.
So, several individuals affirm that if dopers are introduced into the Hall of Fame, it will have negative influence for future generations. Young persons should realize that successful baseball players are those that haven’t applied any banned medication. Actually, it is nonsense. Barry Bonds, Mike Piazza and Roger Clemens are always considered to be the best baseball players. If even they don’t enter the Hall of Fame, they will be always praised. These sportsmen have obtained splendid results. No one can doubt about their accomplishments.
Let think logically. For example, you see the prettiest girl in the town. But she fails to win Miss of America. Does she lose its beauty? Do you discontinue realizing her beauty only because she hasn’t win Miss of America? Answers are evident. The same situation is with Roger Clemens, Barry Bonds and Mike Piazza. They are great players, regardless whether they will ever be in the Hall of Fame or not.
Barry Bonds got several MVPs before he was linked to steroids. Roger Clemens became prominent for his baseball skills before he was accused of steroid use. As for Mike Piazza, no one can contest that he is one of the best catchers.
It is affirmed that the Baseball Hall of Fame is the place for the best baseball players that have ever played the game. Let suggest that Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens and Mike Piazza don’t belong to this category. Then we must introduce another category within the Baseball Hall of Fame. These players must be elected for the Hall of Fame. Otherwise, it loses its significance. Since the Hall of Fame is of greatness, it can’t exist without such excellent players, as Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens and Mike Piazza. Barry Bonds could make games exciting. He showed excellent baseball skills long before he was accused of doping. The same things may be said about Roger Clemens and Mike Piazza. The Hall of Fame is nothing without these amazing players. That’s why it is necessary to consider these conditions and alter the attitude towards these players and the Hall of Fame. Otherwise, the integrity of this sport will be destroyed.

What does Dana White claim about steroid use by fighters with hypogonadism?

Usage of anabolic steroids for testosterone replacement therapy by sportspeople is a controversial issue. There are numerous debates linked with it. It is known by anyone that steroids and several other related medications are prohibited in numerous sports organizations. But if a person should apply these medications under instructions of his/her doctor for clinical purposes, he/she should obtain a therapeutic use exemption. Although it is allowed to take even anabolic steroids for medical needs, such athletes are frequently demonized and called “cheaters”. In fact, it is not fair.
What does Dana White, the UFC president, state about administration of steroids for testosterone replacement therapy? Does he blame fighters that apply steroids in order to increase their low levels of testosterone? Dana White claims that any person with hypogonadism should apply steroids, if these drugs are indicated by his health care provider. Although it is fair, let notice why several sportsmen suffer from decreased levels of testosterone. It is proven scientifically that steroid abuse may cause suppression of natural testosterone secretion. Thus, some fighters and other athletes that have taken previously steroids for performance-enhancing effects may have hypogonadism. Hence, their physicians recommend them taking certain steroids in order to enhance their testosterone levels.
According to Dana White, testosterone replacement therapy is legal for all individuals, including professional athletes. Thus, if any athlete suffers from hypogonadism, he should be allowed to apply steroids prescribed by his doctor. He should reach normal testosterone levels that characterize any healthy man of his age.
But Dana White makes it clear that any fighter or another sportsman that takes anabolic steroids and/or other prohibited preparations for athletic needs must be banned from competitions. It is necessary to make difference between those that take steroids for medical purposes and those that desire to gain muscle mass and strength with the help these medications. No one is allowed to administer anabolic steroids for performance-enhancing effects. It is prohibited in sports. Those that violate anti-doping rules should be sanctioned. Sports must be free from doping.
It seems to be strange that statements of Dana White differ obviously from affirmations presented by anti-doping officials. As you know, words of several anti-doping officers for steroid users are much harsher than those pronounced by the UFC president.

Strength and conditioning coaches should be pushed from boxing

Freddie Roach is a well-known American trainer in boxing. He coaches the celebrated boxer Manny Pacquiao. The trainer notes that he knows the best method to eliminate the problem of doping in boxing. According to this coach, strength and conditioning coaches should be demonized for usage of anabolic steroids and other related medicines in this sport. He believes that they teach boxers to administer doping products. So, the trainer Freddie Roach claims that it is necessary to get rid of each strength and conditioning coach. It will lead to eradication of steroid use from boxing.
What does Freddie Roach think about significant changes that have occurred in physique and performance of the boxer Juan Manuel Marquez. Actually, there are various points of view about this boxer and dramatic changes in him. A lot of individuals think that he has administered anabolic steroids which have caused these changes in him. As for Freddie Roach, he believes that Angel Guillermo Memo Heredia has provided anabolic steroids to Juan Manuel Marquez.
The coach Memo Heredia is an admitted distributor of steroids. He acknowledged that he had provided steroids to numerous top athletes. Since he collaborated with federal prosecutors and disclosed names of some athletes that used anabolic steroids, he was not charged with any crimes linked with distribution of anabolic steroids.
Thus, the trainer Freddie Roach states that strength and conditioning coaches like Memo Heredia should be pushed from boxing. It is the best method to eliminate administration of steroids and other related products from boxing.
It is interesting to mention that Manny Pacquiao, Freddie Roach’s client, also has a strength coach. Does it mean that this well-known boxer takes steroids and/or other related drugs? The trainer Freddie Roach affirms that the strength coach Alex Arizo doesn’t provide steroids to Manny Pacquiao.
Alex Arizo and Memo Heredia are friends. So, Alex Arizo tries to defend his friend, claiming that Freddie Roach’s accusations are incorrect. Actually, Freddie Roach says that he doesn’t like to pronounce any accusations connected with application of anabolic steroids and other related medications. But he has to do it because this is the essence of boxing.
While Alex Arizo affirms that Memo Heredia doesn’t provide steroids to Marquez, Freddie Roach has own point of view. He continues to believe that Marquez is tainted. According to Freddie Roach, dramatic physical transformations of this athlete display that he administers steroids and/or other doping products.

Scott Mercier revealed truth about doping in professional cycling

Although you probably never heard about Scott Mercier, his affirmations linked with administration of doping products in professional cyclist spread very quickly. This athlete belonged to the US Postal Cycling team before Lance Armstrong’s arrival. Several affirmations of Scott Mercier revealed the truth that was hidden in cycling.
Actually, the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) made incorrect conclusions linked with role of Lance Armstrong in doping. The famous American cyclist was accused and found guilty of intake of banned preparations throughout his cycling career. While it may be true, the USADA affirmed that Lance Armstrong promoted doping in professional cycling. But these affirmations turned out to be false. Why? Which words were pronounced by Scott Mercier?
Scott Mercier affirmed that their team doctor Pedro Celaya had a special program for the US Postal Cycling team. He discussed about the program with each rider. Pedro Celaya affirmed that they had to ride 200-250 km every day. Moreover, Pedro Celaya established doping program which had to accompany trainings. Thus, he supplied US Postal Cycling team’s sportspersons with steroids, EPO and some other medicines.
These recommendations were offered by Pedro Celaya, when Lance Armstrong didn’t ride professionally. This man had testicular cancer that time. There was no any doubt that this person would not be able to be involved in professional cycling. His cancer spread throughout the body, including brain. After this man experienced chemotherapy he got recovery. Thus, Lance Armstrong didn’t have any link to the team. He didn’t induce doping in professional cycling. It became evident that doping was established by Pedro Celaya before Lance Armstrong’s arrival.
During 1990s professional cyclists administered Andriol. Then they applied testosterone patches. Under recommendations of Pedro Celaya cyclists used the method of overdosing in order to avoid detection by anti-doping agencies.

Undercover police officer arranges steroid deal with GNC’s clerk

Sports nutrition stores sell not just true dietary supplements. They label steroidal compounds as nutrition supplements and offer them for sale. But authorities put efforts to control and avoid distribution of steroids as if they were just supplements. That’s why clerks of sports nutrition stores sell steroids illegally. Those that come to such stores are often informed that they may purchase steroids as well.
But these conditions are known not only by consumers of steroids but also by police. So, law enforcements conduct undercover investigations in order to bust sports nutrition stores that offer steroids for sale. Clerks should comprehend that if a customer intends to purchase steroids, arranging a deal outside the store, he must be an undercover officer. That’s why those that are implicated in illegal actions connected with sale of steroids should be quite cautious to avoid legal troubles. Although they know about these aspects, they make common mistakes that lead to arrests, charges and imprisonment.
Let present a story about a clerk of the General Nutrition Centers (GNC) store located in East Walpole (Massachusetts). George Touma sold anabolic steroids along with nutrition supplements. When police officers were informed about illegal actions of this person, they began to conduct an investigation. The investigation lasted about a month and was led by The Walpole Police Department.
An undercover police officer came to the shop often and bought nutrition supplements. He was talking to the clerk very frequently. Thus, a friendly relation was established. Finally they discussed about anabolic steroids. The undercover police officer said that he would like to get steroids. Thus, he agreed to purchase 2 vials of steroids from George Touma. The agent had to give $300 for the preparations. The deal was arranged outside the store. After the purchase had taken place police officers detained the clerk.
As a result, George Touma was charged with illicit possession and distribution of anabolic steroids.

Did all Lance Armstrong’s teammates use banned substances?

The USADA has publicized a dossier on the American cyclist Lance Armstrong.
Which impression do readers get, when they study this dossier? It is claimed that a lot of individuals believe that every teammate of this prominent cyclist has administered anabolic steroids and/or other prohibited drugs. But is it true opinion? Has every Lance Armstrong’s teammate doped?
According to the dossier on this athlete, 11 teammates testified against him, affirming that he took performance-enhancing drugs. Moreover, it was confirmed that Lance Armstrong and the most mates of his team applied sophisticated ways in order to be capable to dope and remain undetectable.
Although certain Lance Armstrong’s teammates admitted to applying steroids and/or other related medications, some teammates denied doping. For example, Julian Dean and Patrick Jonker were two teammates of the famous cyclist that denied using performance-enhancing drugs.
Julian Dean confirmed that he neither doped, nor saw Lance Armstrong administering steroids and/or other related preparations.
As for Patrick Jonker, his affirmations were like those of Julian Dean. He claimed that he had never taken any banned medications. He claimed that he competed cleanly and didn’t take any unfair advantage.
According to Patrick Jonker, application of steroids and other related preparations is a serious problem in cycling. He believes that numerous cyclists dope. He considers that it is important to fight against usage of steroids and other related preparations in cycling. But he claims that proper methods should be utilized by anti-doping officers. This athlete is full of anger, saying about prosecution against Lance Armstrong.  Patrick Jonker believes that murderers are less prosecuted than Lance Armstrong.

World Health Organization helps anti-doping agencies to fight against steroid abuse

Timothy Armstrong of the World Health Organization confirms that anabolic steroids are dangerous for public health. While these preparations are frequently used by sportspeople, bodybuilders and ordinary individuals for enhancement of muscle mass and energy, they may have negative influence on physical and psychological health of users. Unluckily, dangers related to these products are not treated seriously. However a lot of experts warn that these medicines may cause serious unwanted results, numerous persons continue to administer them for athletic purposes.
Timothy Armstrong puts efforts to protect public health. He has presented a speech about intake of steroids at a conference organized by the chairman of the International Olympic Committee Arne Ljungqvist. Thus, Timothy Armstrong helps to eliminate illegal intake of steroids.
When it comes to Arne Ljungqvist, he tries to fight against usage of steroids in sports. According to the chairman of the International Olympic Committee, application of steroids represents a moral problem. Those who administer doping products don’t compete fairly. They have unfair advantage over those who don’t administer these medications. So, they act inappropriately.
Of course, Arne Ljungqvist is happy that Timothy Armstrong is also against application of steroids. He affirms that anti-doping agencies should work with the World Health Organization more closely. The united efforts will be capable to eliminate application of doping products from professional sports.
Timothy Armstrong confirms that anti-doping agencies should have direct relations with law enforcements and customs officers. If they collaborate, their war on illegal deals related to steroids and other controlled substances will be more successful. They should inform each other about persons that have something to do with illegal drugs. Thus, they will be able to reach their goals.

Leslie Henderson cares about adolescents

Leslie Henderson worries about adolescents. She is troubled because a lot of teenagers apply anabolic steroids that may be dangerous for them. These drugs may make teenagers aggressive. Furthermore, steroids may affect various systems of users. According to Leslie Henderson, the most dangerous aspect connected with intake of these preparations by adolescents is following: these drugs influence on the brain negatively. They affect not only functions of the brain; they also change the way it acts.
Anabolic steroids have been developed in order to cure some diseases. These preparations can promote development of secondary male characteristics in boys with delayed puberty. They can prevent muscle wasting in persons with HIV/AIDS and other diseases. But these products are also frequently abused. They are used for increase of muscle mass and strength. When health care providers recommend applying steroids to treat certain health problems, they indicate relatively decreased dosages that don’t cause serious adverse reactions. When these medications are administered for performance-enhancing effects, measures are high. But it is necessary to know that enhanced doses may lead to grave adverse reactions.
Non-therapeutic application of steroids is very dangerous for adolescents. Their systems have not been yet developed. That’s why these drugs may lead to irreversible changes in them. Steroids may destroy their physical as well mental health of teenagers. As a result, negative reactions of steroids are manifested in them not only during adolescence but also when they grow up. If adult persons abuse steroids, they usually don’t suffer from such long-term dangerous side consequences, as adolescents experience. That’s why Leslie Henderson and other specialists note that it is necessary to educate adolescents about negative influence of steroids on them. They should know about all probable risks. If teenagers know about severe unwanted reactions of steroids, they will probably stop using these medicines for improvement of appearance and performance.

Why did Anna Watson refuse $75000 contract?

When it is noted about cheerleaders, we imagine brisk and thin women. But we have to recognize that sometimes the reality differs from our imagination. The cheerleader Anna Watson is an example in this situation. She has great muscles. But she is very pretty.
A fitness modeling agency offered her a $75000 contract. But she refused to obtain it. Actually, it is surprisingly because many ladies desire to get such contracts. But she didn’t desire to obtain it because she had to administer steroids for this need.
When Anna Watson began to study at Hawaii Pacific University, she started weight lifting. The lady trained intensively and consumed about 3000 calorie daily. Finally she was able to lift 230 pounds. But her weight was not enough to obtain a modeling fitness contract. However she ate much protein, she could not gain needed pounds.
A modeling agent said that the steroid Anavar could help her to enhance weight. Anna Watson had to gain 50 pounds in order to obtain the contract. So, she began to apply Anavar in order to enhance body mass. She was eating “forever”, even if she didn’t feel hunger. Despites of her efforts, nutrition regimen and administration of the steroid Anavar, she could not gain 50 pounds. She gained just 10 pounds.
The cheerleader Anna Watson is a religious person. She attends a local church. Finally, she decided to ask a weight lifting champion for advice. Hugh Kirby who is also a member of the church has recommended her to stay far from steroid use. He noted that these preparations could cause different adverse consequences. This man also mentioned that steroids could lead to infertility. Thus, Hugh Kirby claimed that it would be better to refuse the contract instead of getting health problems, especially infertility.
Thus, Anna Watson didn’t agree to get the contract. But she decided not to leave her workouts. The cheerleader is studying to become a personal trainer.
Actually, the cheerleader made an appropriate decision. It is reasonable to keep female features without a modeling contract instead of getting the contract and suffering from signs of masculinization on account of steroid use.

Intake of performance-enhancing drugs in football

A lot of articles report about application of steroids in baseball. Sportswriters and reporters describe steroid scandals that take place in this sport. It is frequently debated about steroid era in baseball. MLB players are required to submit to numerous drug tests. It seems that each person interested in sports demonizes baseball players for usage of performance-enhancing drugs. Do only baseball players take steroids and other related drugs? What do you think about football players? Don’t they dope? Why do we blame just baseball players for application of banned medicines?
Intake of doping products is widespread among football players. Since 1960s administration of performance-enhancing drugs has a substantial role in this sport. It is difficult to imagine football without administration of steroids and other related medicines.
Strength and size are substantial features in football. Some individuals consider that football players possess great strength only because of hard workouts and appropriate nutrition. But it is wrong. Many football players administer banned substances in order to obtain strength and induce increasing muscle size.
As you notice, intake of prohibited products is widespread among football players. Nevertheless, baseball players are more harshly blamed for intake of steroids and other related medications. Such baseball players, as Jose Canseco, Roger Clemens and Barry Bonds were subjected to public shame because of doping. But such football players, as Lyle Alzado, Shawne Merriman, Chris Cooper and Thomas Romanowski, also used forbidden medicines. Nonetheless, they were not so widely blamed, as dopers in baseball.
Furthermore, it is important to take into account that application of steroids is linked with more risks in football.
It is supposed that football is unlikely to be cleaned from doping.

Pharmaceutical companies advertise their products during steroid scandals

It is believed that steroid scandals must have negative influence on pharmaceutical companies that manufacture these medications. But manufacturers of these drugs find ways to take advantages of different steroid scandals. Thus, pharmaceutical companies use them in order to advertise own preparations.
Let take as an example the governmental case against Barry Bonds. However one may believe that this steroid scandal must suppress purchase of several medications, the reality has demonstrated opposite things. The pharmaceutical company Abbott Laboratories could draw advantage of the case. The company found a lot of possibilities to promote selling transdermal testosterone because of the accusations linked with Barry Bonds’ doping.
It was confirmed that the former baseball player Barry Bonds applied the transdermal testosterone product “AndroGel”. Of course, many sportswriters published articles about this case. The pharmaceutical company Abbott Laboratories utilized this public scandal and began to advertise this product. Many Barry Bonds’ fans started getting and utilizing this gel. This situation influenced on profits of Abbot Laboratories essentially. According to certain sources, the profits of the company turned out to be great.
Testosterone products are widely prescribed and administered. Many individuals apply them for testosterone replacement therapy. The number of steroid prescriptions has enhanced by 90 % during last five years. So, the number of those that apply steroids is growing.
The pharmaceutical company Abbott Laboratories manufactures and sells the testosterone product “AndroGel”. Since other companies saw that testosterone gel was in high demand, they also began to manufacture it. Thus, such medications, as  AndroDream and Axiron, appeared. While AndroDream is offered for sale by Watson Pharmaceuticals, Axiron is sold by Eli Lilly.
Pharmaceutical companies promote selling their medicines. They affirm that steroids improve men’s health. Of course, any company understands that since a lot of males suffer from insufficient production of testosterone and since these drugs are used for gaining of muscles and strength, the number of potential clients is great.

Usage of metenolone by athletes

The Belarusian shot putter Nadzeya Ostapchuk won the gold medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics. But the female athlete was stripped of the award because she failed a drug test. She provided two samples. The substance metenolone presented in both urine samples.
If you read news linked with doping, you must know that competitive athletes and bodybuilders are usually caught using other steroids and/or performance-enhancing drugs. But as for Nadzeya Ostapchuk, she was caught taking metenolone. It is strange, according to affirmations of anti-doping officers. What does this prohibited medication represent? Why don’t sportspersons ordinarily take this medication for increase of performance?
Metenolone is an anabolic steroid. It has weak androgenic properties. It works like testosterone, increasing muscle mass and adding endurance.
However this preparation has just mild androgenic nature, it causes development of sex male features in females. Females who use this medicine may face common effects of masculinization: the voice becomes deeper; hair grows on the face and on other parts of the body; etc.
This steroid may be taken orally or injectionally.
Metenolone (Methenolone) benefits greatly, when it is applied by sportspersons during their workouts. It is not administered during competitions. It doesn’t work, if it is applied only on the day of a competition.
It is also confirmed that it is easy to catch those who take this anabolic steroid.
Adverse results of Metenolone (Methenolone) hinge upon doses which are administered. They include water retention, hypercalcaemia, bone growth, excessive hair growth on the body, acne formation, hair loss, menstrual abnormalities, enhanced sex drive, etc.
So, if you see a female athlete who has deep voice and excessive hair growth on the body, you may accuse her of steroid use. Actually, it is wrong because these problems may appear also in those females that don’t take any steroids. But sometimes these signs demonstrate that certain women apply preparations that possess androgenic features.
