American youth are taught about side effects of steroids, but the results are not satisfactory

American youth are fans of their sports stars. They have already numerous such idols from the days of the baseball players Babe Ruth and Shoeless Joe Jackson till the stars of today: the football player Peyton Manning and the baseball player Derek Jeter. Youth observe and repeat their each move.
Is it safe to idolize sports stars of today? It may be risky. Nowadays sports heroes earn millions of dollars due to administration of steroids. Although the NFL and the MLB fight against doping, the war seems to lack success. Steroid use like cancer destroys sports. Although American youth are educated about severe unwanted effects of these drugs, the results are not good.
It is said that youth are suppressed to use steroids. They try to meet the needed criteria of college admission; they idolize current professional sportspersons. The all these aspects induce taking steroids.
Undoubtedly, all parents want their children to succeed. If children go info sports, their parents desire them to compete successfully and to continue to play professionally. Children understand that it is difficult to do it. Which are the results? The pressure influences greatly on American youth. Over 10 % of teenagers feel that they need to lie in order to succeed. College admission levels have dropped because of budget cuts. Abuse of steroids can seem for teenagers to be the best alternative mean.
American youth know that many professional athletes have succeeded differently. Some of them did it due to their talents and intensive workouts; others applied steroids and other related medicines. If American youth follow those who dope, which will be the results?
Prolonged steroid use may lead to addiction to these products. Furthermore, users of steroids may experience such negative results, as liver disorders, cancer, high blood pressure, icterus, kidney dysfunctions and bad cholesterol. These side reactions are claimed to be serious; they can threaten to life.
Undoubtedly, parents don’t want to see their children with destroyed health. They desire their children to reach goals due to devotion to sports and intensive workouts. But it is difficult to do it because many others lie, taking steroids. Now it is time to do everything to push out steroids. These medicines shouldn’t disturb to reach our goals.
